A wireless external GPU sounds like a gimmick until you check the specs.
WiCi unveiled the WiCi One, what it’s calling the first wireless local GPU device, which shares a desktop NVIDIA GPU, up to an RTX 5090 with 32GB GDDR7, with laptops and tablets over Wi-Fi 7 instead of physical cables.
It operates in Driver mode as a native GPU for Windows, macOS, or Linux, or in API mode for zero-code AI app integration.
Backed by the NVIDIA Inception program, WiCi was built by the team behind the Vincross Hexa robot and Sequoia-backed Vesta Sleep.
RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5090 Editions Target Very Different Buyers
As Wccftech explains, the launch configuration pairs a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB with an Intel Core 3 100U CPU and 1TB of NVMe storage.
The higher-end model steps up to the ultra-pricy RTX 5090 32GB, an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, and 4TB of NVMe storage
., which WiCi says can be turned into extended working VRAM through its TurboStream weight-paging system.
Both models connect over Wi-Fi 7 using a 4×4 MIMO 320MHz setup, delivering up to 11.5 Gbps bandwidth directly to your device.
WiCi’s Own Cyberpunk 2077 Numbers Are the Headline, But They’re Unverified
As VideoCardz notes, the RTX 5060 Ti edition runs Cyberpunk 2077 at 80 FPS in 4K Ultra with DLSS 4 and Black Myth: Wukong at 60 FPS in 4K Cinematic.
Public demos reportedly placed the unit only about 50cm from the test gaming laptop, and none of these figures have been independently verified yet.
This distinction matters given how sensitive Wi-Fi throughput is to distance, walls, and network congestion.
WiCi is holding a public demonstration in New York on October 5 and 6, where independent hands-on impressions should finally put those bold numbers to the test.
