The Gaming Brief:
- Microsoft and Nvidia confirmed RTX Spark’s commercial launch for October 7, 2026, during a joint Windows and Surface event in San Francisco
- RTX Spark pairs a 20-core Nvidia Grace Arm CPU with a Blackwell RTX GPU carrying 6,144 CUDA cores and up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5X memory
- Nvidia claims RTX Spark systems can run AAA games at 1440p and over 100 FPS using ray tracing, DLSS, and Reflex
- Launch partners include Microsoft, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI, with Acer and Gigabyte following later this year
Nvidia’s RTX Spark is finally getting a real launch date, and the specs are the kind that make PC gamers do a double take.
Satya Nadella, Windows and Devices lead Pavan Davuluri, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will share the stage on October 7 at 10 AM Pacific in San Francisco to formally introduce RTX Spark hardware, with Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Ultra widely expected to headline the reveal.
Nvidia claims its AI-focused superchip pushes 1440p past 100 FPS in modern AAA titles, frame rates normally reserved for desktop GPUs like the RTX 4080 or RTX 5070.
A 20-Core Grace CPU Meets a 6,144-Core Blackwell GPU
As TechPowerUp notes, at the center of RTX Spark sits a top-tier configuration pairing a 20-core Grace Arm CPU with a 6,144 CUDA-core Blackwell GPU, backed by up to 128GB of shared unified memory.
A second, leaner variant drops to an 18-core Grace CPU and a 5,120-core GPU with 24GB to 32GB of memory for Copilot+ AI PCs.
Delivering up to 1 petaflop of local AI performance, per Nvidia, this architecture brings muscle that easily rivals a traditional gaming pc setup inside a thin mobile frame, handling everything from local AI agents to 90GB-plus 3D scenes.
Game Studios Including EA, Ubisoft, and Riot Are Already On Board
As Business Standard notes, Nvidia has lined up support from Electronic Arts, Embark, and Ubisoft, announced at Gamescom, joining Krafton, NetEase, Riot Games, and Xbox, who signed on earlier at Computex in May.
Alongside the hardware, Nvidia is shipping RTX Kit 2026.3 and RTX Mega Geometry SDK 2.0 for developers, plus a new DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction feature expected to land in supported titles and Blender 5.3 later this year,
These upgrades are aimed at sharpening image quality in ray-traced and path-traced scenes.
Windows on Arm Gets a Tuned Version of Prism for Compatibility
Because RTX Spark runs on Arm rather than x86, Microsoft confirmed its Prism emulator, which translates 32-bit and 64-bit x86 software for Windows on Arm, has been specifically tuned for RTX Spark, building on a year of compatibility improvements.
Microsoft also says it widened GPU-accessible system memory and improved scheduling for unified-memory systems.
ASUS has teased its ProArt 16 running the platform’s N1X SoC, Lenovo has confirmed its Yoga Pro 9n and Yoga 9n 2-in-1, and Acer showed a compact desktop concept at IFA 2026, with exact pricing and configurations still withheld until October 7.
These performance gains position the new lineup as strong contenders against existing 4K gaming laptops, with full pricing and final specs dropping October 7.
